India International Science Festival

More recently, on January 16, 2023, the eighth International Science Festival 2022 will be organized in Bhopal from January 21 to 24. Meanwhile, Director General of Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MAPCOST) Dr. Anil Kothari said that this science festival has been organized with the aim of creating awareness and dissemination of science among school children and public. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh jointly inaugurated the India International Science Festival, IISF-2022 with the theme “Moving towards Amrit Kaal with Science Technology and Innovation” ".

According to official statements, the Eighth Science Festival was being organized under the joint auspices of the Government of India's Department of Biotechnology, Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA) and Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MENIT) .

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in his address that 2600 start-ups came up in Madhya Pradesh alone in a year and this is not only limited to Indore city but Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are also full of successful start-ups. He called upon the students and entrepreneurs of Madhya Pradesh to develop enthusiasm towards innovation.  Apart from him, Dr Jitendra Singh said that India is preparing for a giant leap in quantum technology, which will define the science of the future with practical solutions to the world's pressing problems.

Dr Jitendra Singh said IISF Bhopal is taking place when India assumes the chairmanship of G20 in 2023, where it will showcase not only the multi-dimensional developmental dimensions, but also India's universally recognized soft power Will display He said that on the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations has declared 2023 as the International Millet Year. The minister also informed that India will also chair the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in 2023.

Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MAPCOST), Bhopal is the nodal agency for this science festival. According to information, during January 21 to 24, more than 8 thousand delegates from all over the country will participate in this science festival. The main theme of this festival being held in the amritkal of independence is 'Country moving towards amritkal with science, technology and innovation'.
